Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka has given his assurance that Fiji will work with the Pacific Islands Forum in building a better, stronger pacific family.
The Prime Minister made this statement as Chair of the Pacific Islands Forum in a traditional welcome accorded to him by the Secretariat yesterday.
Rabuka said that he can only reciprocate the honour of being Chair by serving the Forum for the remainder of his term and continuing as a strong member thereafter.
“Whether we can follow the languages and the dialects or not, our spirits communicate,” Rabuka said.
“I am looking forward to contributing to developing the Forum. We pay our respects to the leaders of the past, and we owe it to them to forge this unity and work forward from here. I call on all of you and Government leaders in the Pacific to come together and move forward in unity,” Rabuka stated.
Rabuka also assured the Forum that the Government he leads while he is Chair and after, will be committed to the PIF’s collective goals, missions and the one vision for a great united Pacific region.
