Low pressure system to bring more rain

The Fiji Meteorological Service says a low pressure system is expected to affect the country this weekend.

The Weather Office is closely monitoring this weather event and will update warnings and forecasts accordingly.

A series of troughs of low pressure with associated cloud and showers are expected to affect the Fiji Group.

A moist north-westerly wind flow continues to prevail over the Fiji group.

Occasional showers and thunderstorms are expected, especially over Yasawa and Mamanuca groups, the interior and western parts of Viti Levu [i.e. Greater Korolevu-Sigatoka-Nadi-Lautoka-Ba- Tavua-Rakiraki Nadroga-Navosa], Northern Division and Kadavu.

Localised heavy falls may lead to flash flooding of low-lying and flood prone areas.
