Maslen eager to play in Coral Coast 7s

Australia-based Tamworth Pirates rep Toby Maslen is eager to feature for Pacific Nomads at the McDonald’s Coral Coast 7s in Sigatoka next week.

Maslen and fellow teammate Brad Male are the only two players selected to feature alongside former Fiji 7s rep Pio Tuwai.

“I was pretty stationed when I got the message at work one day asking if I’d like to come over,” Maslen told NBN News Australia.

“I’m kind of glad to be going.”

“This year, Bred and I got a little combination to work at.”

“It’s going to be a huge change. I know it involves a whole lot of running with fellows on the field.”

“So hopefully my fitness is up scratched. I’ve got to adjust quickly once in Fiji.”

Pacific Nomads is drawn in Pool MB with Ratu Filise, Wadigi Salvo and Tuva Rugby.

The Coral Coast 7s will be played from next Thursday to Saturday at Lawaqa Park in Sigatoka.
