Mission accomplished for Kororua

Laisane Kororua of Naitasiri Secondary School said she accomplished her mission after retaining gold at the 2023 Coca-Cola Games at the HFC Bank Stadium today.

The young lass from Lutu Village, Naitasiri won gold in the junior girls’ 1500 metre event with a time of 5.15.37.

“I was aiming to take gold again this year and I am glad that I managed to do it,” Kororua told FijiLive.

Kororua took gold and set a sub-junior 1500 metres event games record last year.

“I was just glad to get gold again this year, but it’s not over for me.”

The track queen is looking to get a second gold medal in the junior girls’ 800 metres event.

“I won silver in the 800 metres last year, hopefully I can go one better and get the gold this time around.”
