More than 1k marijuana plants uprooted in Vusasivo

More than 1,400 plants believed to be marijuana were seized from the Vusasivo farming area.

A team from the Tukavesi Police Station conducted the operation and made the discovery of the plants as well as dried leaves all believed to be marijuana.

Investigators continue to identify the owner of the farm.

Meanwhile,  a 41-year-old man was arrested in Sigatoka Town in the weekend after he was allegedly found with a brown bag containing dried plant material believed to be marijuana.

At the Nadi carrier stand, a 30-year-old man was found with several sachets of dried leaves believed to be marijuana.

All seized substances have been sent for analysis as investigations continue.
