Mudunasoko wins Fiji’s first medal

Swimmer Kelera Mudunasoko bagged Fiji’s first medal of the 2023 Pacific Games in the Solomon Islands on Monday.

The Year 10 student of Swami Vivekananda College in Nadi settled for silver in the women’s 200 meters breaststroke in Honiara.

Mudunasoko clocked 2:46:09 seconds in the heats and improved her time in the final to 2:41:98 seconds.

Meanwhile Fiji’s 4×100 metres freestyle relay team won a bronze medal in their event.

The quartet of Rosemary Rova, Marseleima Moss, Anahira McCutcheon and Matelita Naisara finished third in 4:10.74 seconds.

They could not retain the gold medal which they won in Samoa in 2019 as New Caledonia finished first and Tahiti picked up silver.
