Nadi aims to break four-year jinx

Nadi’s Head Coach Raj Dayal says the team is optimistic about breaking their four-year winless streak at this year’s Fiji FACT.

The last time Nadi secured a win was in 2019 when they defeated Suva 2-1.

Since then, the team has been working hard to turn their fortunes around, with focused training sessions both in the morning and evening.

Speaking to FijiLive, Dayal said his confidence stems from the hard work and dedication exhibited by the Green Machines, which he believes will make them strong contenders despite being grouped with top western teams.

“Discipline and teamwork have been the major focus areas for Nadi, with the team comprising a mix of youth and seasoned players who have blended well.”

“This combination has been improving steadily due to the players’ dedication, we’ll surely put on a strong performance at the tournament,” said the coach.

Nadi has also added four new players to their roster, including Sharvan Sharma from New Zealand.

Nadi Team: Ratu Halstead, Vishant Reddy, Shaheel Valentine, Afraz Ali, Leo Lesumai, Shravan Sharma, William Valentine, Ashneel Kumar, Junior Rocky, Eneriko Matau, Tuiba Batiratu, Ame Votoniu, Ratu Dugucagi, Ratu Tulivou, Prashant Reddy, Vuniuci Tikomaimereke, Aron Naicker, Mohammed Ayman, Vinayak Rao, Siotame Kubu, Ratu Saimoni Nabogi, Sairusi Niulevu.
