New winner for CC7s Youth Division

A new champion will be crowned in the Youth Division of the McDonald’s Coral Coast 7s at Lawaqa Park in Sigatoka tomorrow.

This is after defending champions Tuva Rugby failed to win any of its Pool A games despite putting up a heavy contest in the two days.

The side got bashed out by 12-5 against King 7s Select who is the first team to qualify for the Cup quarterfinal today.

King 7s Select broke the deadlock in the 5th minute through a ball turnover by half-back Leone Serukaitoga but Jethro Lesei failed to convert.

A foul play by Tuva awarded a scrum to King 7s and the fast hands of Sitiveni Rasa gave the ball away to Saiasi Mataitoga to score the second try and Lasei converted for a 12-0 lead.

Tuva remained content and responded with a late first-half try from Vilikesa Ratu but Samuela Ledua failed to convert.

The second half did not produce any points though the teams worked hard in both attacking and defensive play.
