HK officials here to boost trade, relations Senior members of the Hong Kong Chamber of Commerce are currently in the country looking at ways of boosting trade and economic relations between Fiji and Hong Kong.

The seven member team was received by Prime Minister Commodore Voreqe Bainimarama yesterday.

Head of delegation Amy Kwan said the visit provides an insight for them to look at the various opportunities that exist through investing and trading in Fiji.

“A majority of the chamber members have not been to Fiji so this is an opportunity to look at investment prospects and opportunities in Fiji. We were also able to pay courtesy calls to different Ministries” Kwan said.

The delegation met with senior government officials including President Ratu Epeli Nailatikau, the Minister for Defence, the Minister for Primary Industries, the Attorney General as well as officials of Investment Fiji.

Fiji’s Ambassador to the People’s Republic of China Esala Teleni and Fiji’s Honorary Consul in Hong Kong Mr Desmond Yee accompanied the delegation at their meeting with the PM.
