ATH most active stock on SPSE trading platform

ATH most active stock on SPSE trading platform Amalgamated Telecom Holdings Limited (ATH) was the most active stock on the South Pacific Stock Exchange e-trading platform this week.

Other stock witnessing trades this week was Fijian Holdings Limited (FHL) and Toyota Tsusho (South Sea) Limited (TTS). ATH was the most active stock in terms of number of trades, quantity and the value traded.

In terms of overall market statistics, 20 transactions were recorded for the 130,178 shares that exchanged hands garnering $156,194 in consideration. On a further positive note, ATH saw an increase of 5per cent in its share price resulting in the overall capitalisation of the market taking an upswing of 3.49per cent, which at close of trading on Friday stood at $831,716,869.

The SPSE Total Return Index (STRI) also increased 3.49per cent to end the week of trading at a value of 2056.49. The rise in the accumulation index was due to the share price increase of $0.04 recorded by ATH.

The new order flows for the market remains healthy with several larger parcel orders recorded resulting in an aggregate consideration of $347,703 being accumulated for this week. Larger parcels were noted for CFM, ATH, RCF and TTS.

In terms of overall unexecuted orders on the e-trading order platform, both the total shares on bid and the total shares on offer also saw decreases of 1.57per cent and 3.24per cent respectively. The SPSE bid to offer ratio remained unchanged from prior week and closed at 1:2.

ATH continues to stand as the narrowest bid-offer margin security with a spread of $0.01 with the most lucrative bid placed at $0.85 while TTS continues to rank as the widest bid to offer margin security with a spread of $2.50.

The SPSE market announcements platform recorded eight market releases for the week. FijiCare Insurance Limited (FIL), Communications Fiji Limited (CFM), Kontiki Growth Fund Limited (KGF) and Paradise Beverages (Fiji) Limited (PBF) released their audited financial statements as at 31st the six months ended 31st December 2013. FHL declared its first interim dividend for December 2013. Fiji TV released an update regarding the Media Industry Development Authority complaint. CFM also released the notice of its Annual General Meeting with VB Holdings Limited (VBH) concluding the week of announcements by releasing its Annual Report for 2013.
