Fiji Airways has today clarified that flights to Honiara resumes next month, at least it's Tuesday Nadi-Vila-Honiara service.

The airline's Managing Director and Chief Executive (CEO) Stefan Pichler had said yesterday that flights would resume in March.

However, in a statement issued today, the airline says it will recommence its Tuesday Nadi-Vila-Honiara service from February 3 and the weekly Saturday direct flights between Nadi and Honiara commences on April 4.

"The Honiara service via Port Vila starts earlier as we need less lead time for sales," Pichler told FijiLive.

"For those flights via Port Vila, we already have good bookings on the NAN-VLI (Nadi-Port Vila) segment, hence need only sales between Port Vila and HIR to make the flights profitable.

"For the NAN-HIR direct services we need  now to sell the whole aircraft capacity, so it will take a bit longer.”

Flights will be on sale within the next few days, the airline said.

Fiji Airways has also extended an invitation to Solomon Airlines to further discuss code share and interline agreements and other opportunities for commercial cooperation.
