Aircraft repairs to cause flight disruptions Repair works on one of the damaged A330-200 aircraft of Fiji Airways will cause flight disruptions, the airline company says.

The aircraft was preparing to depart for Los Angeles from Nadi when it was hit by ground handling equipment, operated by ground handling company ATS.

As a result of the impact, Fiji Airways took the aircraft out of service. The aircraft will now undertake the required repair before it is made available for service.

Fiji Airways Board Director, Stefan Pichler said they are very disappointed with the incident as it will be extremely costly to repair the aircraft and they are working hard on two fronts; to ensure that the aircraft is fixed and returned to service as soon as possible, and to manage our passengers affected by the resulting disruptions to our network.

He said the incident was beyond their control they share the frustrations of the customers and apologise to them.

Customers flying on Fiji Airways this week may encounter delays or schedule changes, as the airline works to minimise the impact of the incident.
