AG discusses aviation with Singapore envoy

AG discusses aviation with Singapore envoy Attorney-General and Minister for Civil Aviation, Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum and the High Commissioner of Singapore, Mr Verghese Matthews met in Suva yesterday to discuss wide range of issues including the upcoming Singapore Airshow Aviation Leadership Summit.

The Aviation Leadership Summit will bring together civil aviation ministers and other senior government officials, regulators, the private sector, and airline operators to discuss the future direction of the aviation industry.

The Attorney-General said that Fiji Airways expansion to Singapore in April makes it vital that Fiji better integrate into the aviation industry in Singapore and beyond.

“Fiji and Singapore share many things in common as small countries with dynamic economies. Singapore Airlines, as well, can serve as an excellent model for how to position our own aviation industry in a competitive marketplace,” said AG.

He also remarked that Fiji Airways will seek to collaborate with Singapore Airlines via code-sharing.
