Communications Minister and Attorney General Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum issued the license to the telecommunication company yesterday. The company has been given a broadcasting license, a spectrum license and a special license to operate Sky Pacific. One of the conditions of the license is that Sky Pacific will not be allowed to air local content and advertisements and this will only be permitted during natural disasters and events of national importance where messages need to be sent out to the people. Digicel will also have to pay a rebate to customers if Sky Pacific goes off air for any period of time. Sky Pacific will soon add a new channel called TV WAN to take the current customer offering to 25 channels. By Reginald Chandar
