Frontliners to receive second dose next week All frontline workers will be receiving their second dose of the AstraZeneca vaccine from next week.

This was the reassurance given by the Permanent Secretary for Health Dr James Fong after six health care workers were infected with the virus.

Dr Fong while speaking during the press last night said the programme for the second phase of doses will start next week.

He said the interval between the first and second doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine for the opt-in programme will soon be updated to 12 weeks for all registrants.

“I know that all the frontliners have received their first dose of the vaccine and they will be getting their second dose vaccine next week,” he said

“The programme for the second start doses next week, most of the frontliners will be getting their AstraZeneca vaccine this month.

“The interval between the first and second doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine for the opt-in programme will soon be updated to 12 weeks for all registrants.”

“The disciplined forces and healthcare workers are aiming for the 12 weeks interval, they are aiming to get their second dose at least 12 weeks after the first dose,” he said.

He said the benefits of getting their second dose of the vaccine far outweigh any risks.
