Rabuka was also questioned: Prasad Former Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka was also taken in for questioning by Criminal Investigation Department (CID) officers yesterday, confirms National Federation Party Leader Professor Biman Prasad.

Prof Prasad said at least six politicians were taken in for the statement they made against the iTaukei Land Trust Act.

He said in his case, all he said was that the Government was being arrogant and disrespectful by not consulting landowners on the changes to be made to the Bill.

“Last night I was questioned by Police on the statement issued on Friday about changes to Bill No. 17, iTaukei Land Trust Act,” he said.

“NFP President Pio Tikoduadua, former Prime Minister Rabuka and colleagues from Social Democratic Liberal Party were also detained together with Unity Fiji Party Leader Savenaca Narube.

" All our President Tikoduadua did was that he made a video calling for calm."

He said the Assistant Minister for iTaukei Affairs Selai Adimaitoga accused him in Parliament earlier today for not following the Party’s old values.

"She also accused me for spreading lies. It is a joke when one behaves like a puppet of her masters, reading something penned for her."

“If she read my statement, it clearly stated that since its inception in 1963, the Party has always respected the right of the indigenous people to their land," he added.
