Woman reports alleged frontine breach There are fresh allegations of soldiers working the frontlines in quarantine facilities, inviting people to drink grog with them.

Talei Qarase in a statement on social media claims that an immediate family member in a government quarantine facility had been approached a soldier for a drink.

Qarase said on Thursday, a soldier manning the government quarantine facility went to her family member's room asking if she wanted to drink with them.

She said they were able to contact authorities immediately to report the breach of coronavirus protocols in government quarantine facilities by soldiers.

“Yesterday, a soldier in the facility came to her room and asked her if they could come to drink there, when she refused, he then invited her to go drinking with them,” she said.

“My family member was on FaceTime with her boyfriend the whole time this happened. My family member did not know this soldier and had never met him before.

“We were able to contact authorities immediately and this was addressed right away. Thank you to the staff that handled this and checked in on our family members.

“If you are in quarantine, and alone and this is happening to you, please contact the authorities. This is probably how we got covid in the country in the first place,” she said.

She said it was important for front liners to adhere to the coronavirus restrictions in place as people were relying on them for their safety.
