Unvaxed banned from schools Unvaccinated adults will be not allowed into schools grounds.

Permanent Secretary for Health Dr James Fong said gatherings outside of classrooms will not be allowed when school resumes.

Dr Fong in a press conference tonight said schools have been encouraged to get portable air cleaners and keep all entries open.

“A stringent process is in place to ensure that parental or guardian consent is secured and online registration is encouraged before vaccination,” he said.

“The ministry has set aside the required number of vials of vaccine to ensure that the target population between 17 to 12-year-olds can receive both doses of the vaccine,” he said.

“The eligible children’s 1st dose vaccination is planned for rollout from next Monday and the second on October 18.

“Similar to adults, children can also experience the side effects of vaccination such as pain at the jab site, swelling, fever, and body aches.

“Vaccination for children under the age of 18 years is safe. These symptoms should subside over a few days.

“Severe side effects are rare and the risk of getting a severe infection and succumbing to coronavirus is still higher than the risk of adverse events from vaccination,” he said.

He said children from the age of 15 to 17 will get mordena while 12 to 14 years will get the pfizer vaccine.
