11 SODELPA MPs withdraw support Social Democratic Liberal Party leader Viliame Gavoka has confirmed that 11 parliamentarians have not reapplied for a ticket to stand for the political party in the 2022 general elections.

Gavoka said only ten out of the 21 party parliamentarians have indicated that they intend to contest the 2022 Elections under the Social Democratic Liberal Party banner.

Gavoka made the revelation at a press conference this afternoon saying a lot of people have shown interest to stand for the Social Democratic Liberal Party in the 2022 general elections.

“Right now for the Social Democratic Liberal Party to win, we need about 80percent of the iTaukei and 18percent of the other communities votes,” he said.

“We have a 2022 general elections plan which has all been put in place. This political party has a vision, objective, methodology and aim for the general elections.

“The Social Democratic Liberal Party vision for the 2022 general is what I as the party leader had articulated at the beginning of this year.

“The seven-step plan in place is between now and the elections. Step one right now for the Social Democratic Liberal Party is awareness.

“Our volunteers for the 2022 general elections will be trained on how to carry out awareness to ensure our goals are executed.

“We are taking the worst-case scenario that the general elections will be held on July 22. I hope we could know when elections will be held so we could prepare well,” Gavoka said.

He said the management will soon be interviewing people who are interested to stand for Social Democratic Liberal Party in the 2022 general elections

Gavoka said the Social Democratic Liberal Party will be announcing its first batch of candidates for the 2022 general elections by late December.
