FEO facilitates 3 name change requests The Fijian Elections Office has so far facilitated three name change requests by eligible voters.

Supervisor of Elections Mohammed Saneem while confirming this said seven more requests have been forwarded to Birth Death and Marriages office for processing.

Name change is now possible following amendment to the electoral act.

Meanwhile, Saneem has thanked 33,665 Fijians who engaged in their ad hoc voter registration drive resulting from changes in the law.

He said registration drives at various centres will resume on Tuesday at various locations and they are also looking at opening up offices in Korovou as well to facilitate registration for those who visit Korovou town.

The FEO announced in 2019 that the green colored VoterCard will be expiring.

Since then, the Electoral Commission has extended the expiry date of the green colored VoterCards.

However, the green colored VoterCards are now expired and voters will have upgrade to blue colored VoterCard.

One of the main features of the blue colored VoterCard is that the polling venue, the place where you have to vote on Election Day is directly written on the VoterCard.

This will prevent voters from having to look up where they are supposed to vote or confusion around their name not appearing on the list.
