Domestic shipping to be reviewed The health ministry will review the domestic travel safe measures for shipping companies that provide transport services for the public as more people living in the red zones have been vaccinated.

Permanent Secretary for Health Dr James Fong said domestic travel safe measures for shipping will be reviewed as more people in red zones are protected through vaccinations.

Dr Fong said domestic travel measures are initially quite stringent as seen with the ministry’s requirement to keep public shipping capacity to 50 per cent.

“The health ministry requests all travellers to bear with the individual inconveniences they may face as we incorporate the subtle process changes,” he said.

“This is needed to ensure that the highest level of public health protection is maintained while travelling on vessels.

“The public is reminded that we must continue to adhere to coronavirus safe measures of wearing masks appropriately especially in indoor public spaces,” he said.

He said the public should cover their mouths while coughing, wash their hands regularly and maintain a safe physical distancing of two meters.
