Permanent Secretary for Health Dr James Fong has confirmed that 155 people are currently admitted in hospitals around the country with coronavirus.

Dr Fong in a statement on social media said none of the people admitted for coronavirus in the country are in severe or critical condition.

“A total of 70 people are admitted in the central division, 59 in the western division and 26 in the northern division,” he said.

“We continue to record lower than expected hospitalisations due to coronavirus despite the current resurgence in coronavirus cases throughout Fiji,” he said.

He said this is a decrease in the number of people being admitted in hospitals around the country compared to the 169 on Monday.
