Sayed-Khaiyum in a press conference said the Minister for Disaster Management Inia Seruiratu was the acting prime minister while he was away. He said other ministers visiting communities affected by floodwaters in the aftermath of Tropical Cyclone Cody does not in any way undermine the work of the Government. “Following a scheduled medical review in Melbourne, our prime minister was informed by his physician that he needed to undertake an urgent cardiovascular-related surgical procedure. “He underwent that procedure and we are happy to report that it was a great success. He’s now well on his way to recovery and in fact, has already spoken with his family members. “Per the doctor’s orders, this type of surgery takes weeks, at a minimum, to recover from. We expect to have our prime minister back at the helm of the nation by the end of the next month. Sayed-Khaiyum when asked about claims that people had started to lose confidence in the Government said they have got a lot of positive responses from the public. By Nacanieli Tuilevuka
