A bus carrying around 60 passengers tumbled into a drain along the Kings Road in Tailevu today after avoiding a head on collision with an oncoming vehicle.

According to an eyewitness, passengers were trapped and had to break the back glass of the bus to make their way out.

No major injuries were recorded, however all passengers were taken to hospital for observation and checkup.

The driver of the car fled the scene immediately after the accident but later surrendered himself to Police and is being questioned at the Korovou Police Station.
