ADB provides $6.47m for tourism recovery

Attorney General and Minister for Economy Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum and Asian Development Bank’s Regional Director Aaron Batten today signed a FJD$6.47 million grant agreement to enhance COVID-19 preparedness for tourism recovery.
The signing which took place at the Fiji Aviation Academy in Nadi is funded under the Asian Development Bank's "Japan Fund for Prosperous and Resilient Asia and the Pacific".
It aims to support Fiji's tourism industry recovery by strengthening the COVID-19 responsiveness at Nadi International airport.
Sayed-Khaiyum highlighted that such a partnership would support major upgrades at the Nadi International Airport, enabling the tourism industry to continue on a sustainable path towards recovery.
