Government has no solutions: NFP

Government has no solutions: NFP National Federation Party leader Biman Prasad claims that the government is talking about the past because it has no solutions to the challenges the country is currently facing.

Prasad said the People’s Alliance and National Federation Party are not going into the past because the people need a solution to the problems they are currently facing.

“People are coming out with degrees but without a job available for them to apply for, they are not talking about this,” he said.

“What they are talking about in the past. The radio station that is funded by the taxpayers was used to attack me and the People’s Alliance leader Sitiveni Rabuka.

“They are not talking about the 2000 coup when Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama was the commander of the Republic of the Fiji Military Forces.

“Also, they are not talking about the 2006 coup when he threw out the 1997 constitution in which Rabuka and the then National Federation Party leader delivered a world-acclaimed constitution.

“Government does not talk about the many individuals that were taken to the barracks where they were tortured and many suffered,” he said.

He said whether it's electricity, roads or health services, the government has run out of ideas to find solutions to the problems the country is facing.

“If you look at the health services, one of the people that we met with stated that the health services in Nadi are poor and he also spoke about the deteriorating infrastructure,” he said.

“My friends, never in the history of this country we have had disastrous health services in this country. This is the result of what this government has done.

“Now you can see throughout the country that people are working on improving the roads and are running around, they are using your money.

“We went past several government vehicles today and the lights were flashing on the top. They are holding talanoa sessions with the people, using your own resources,” he said.

Prasad said this is why the government is trying to scare voters and are using state resources to carry out their campaigns.
