Nawaikula to spend 2 years in jail

He was found guilty of giving false information to a public officer while claiming parliamentary allowance with deception which was more than $20,000. He had falsely stated that his permanent place of residence was in Buca village and allegedly obtained $20,201.35 between August 2019 and April 2020. The last year of his sentence has been suspended to five years, he must also serve at least one year and six months in a corrections facility before parole can be considered.
