These are the words of the Generation Party leader Varinava Tiko when questioned if he had a connection to the 2000 coup maker. In an interview, Tiko told FijiLive that if anyone wants to read his personal connection to Speight in the event of the 2000 coup can read his personal blog. “George Speight has no connection to New Generation Party and if anyone wants to know my personal connection to him in the event of 2000 can read my blog,” he said. “The purpose of forming a new party was to create a platform for the new generation of Fiji to transition leaders into a new era of principles-based governance approach in politics. “Any existing political party will only feel threatened if they cannot keep up with the expectations of their members. “What we offer in the political arena is a platform for a new beginning, especially for our new voters and aspiring leaders,” he said. When questioned whether Speight should be released from prison, he said the process for anyone seeking a pardon must be made available at the earliest to those that qualify. By Nacanieli Tuilevuka
