While being questioned whether they would continue with the free education if elected into government, Tiko said they would replace the word free with investment. “Different types of investments must be targeted toward different types of resources to feed the available markets here and abroad,” he said. “The government, at the end of the day, is to ensure that the return on these investments will contribute to nation-building. “We believe that there is nothing free in this world and would like to replace the word free in our education system with investment. “Only when we have credible data can we decide on the level of investment deserving of a child. Questions need to be asked is how much families are willing to invest in education. “This is in case there was nothing free from the government. The New Generation Party will continue to emphasise the need to see education as an investment. He said education must be seen as an investment. By Nacanieli Tuilevuka
