31 more Fijians to work in Australia Another 31 selected Fijian workers will depart our shores this week to work in Australia under the Pacific Australia Labour Mobility (PALM) Scheme.

These workers will be absorbed with five different approved employers, mainly in the meat works industry for four years, while the remaining workers will be joining the seasonal worker program (SWP) in the horticulture industry for up to nine months.

Minister for Employment Parveen Bala urged the workers to use what they learned to save money, work smart, make their families proud and show Australia the right skills, knowledge and attitude.

He extended sincere gratitude to the Australian Government and the approved employers: HealthX, Whales Regional Workforce, Midfield Oasis at Newman and Fruitico for the employment opportunity of these selected workers.

Meanwhile, the National Employment Centre (NEC) has mobilised 1,512 Fijian workers under the scheme from January to June this year.
