2022-23 National Budget passed

The Fijian Parliament has passed the 2022-23 National Budget after a week of robust debate and deliberation.
 
The Committee of Supply agreed to the 2022/2023 Appropriation bill 2022 bill number 27 of 2022 read for the third time and without amendments.
 
Attorney-General and Minister for Economy Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum moved the third reading in which the bill for an act to appropriate a sum of over $3.2 billion for the ordinary services of the Government for the year ending 31st July 2023 bill number 27 of 2022 enacted by the Parliament.
 
27 Members of Parliament voted in favour while 16 voted against it and 7 did not vote.
 
Speaker Ratu Epeli Nailatikau congratulated all MPs and Sayed-Khaiyum for their contribution and thanked them for being part of the integral and significant process of the National Budget.
 
The Parliament session continues.
