SODELPA Govt will build new hospitals: Gavoka The Social Democratic Liberal Party (SODELPA) will build two state of the art 150 bed hospitals in Nadi and Nasinu if it forms Government after the 2022 General Election.

While releasing parts of the Party's manifesto for the upcoming polls in Suvavou village yesterday, Party Leader Viliame Gavoka said this is part of an elaborate plan to ease the burdens placed on the Colonial War Memorial Hospital and Nadi Hospital at the moment.

He said for preliminary works to begin for the Nadi and Nasinu hospitals, a SODELPA Government will allocate $20 million.

"Any Government is responsible for ensuring that all Fijians have access to the needed health services with sufficient quality that ensures that the uses of these services are free or do not incur financial hardship.”

“SODELPA’s policy will ensure that there is a provision for free medical care for those that cannot meet their basic needs, also improve medical infrastructure and modernize access to specialized care,” he said.

Gavoka also highlighted that $10 million will be allocated for the refurbishment of the CWM hospital, Lautoka hospital and Labasa hospital.

He said these policies will ensure there is a provision for free medical care for those that cannot meet their basic needs, improve medical infrastructure, modernize will full provision of medical equipment’s and facilitate access to specialist care.

“We will improve the service capacity of all medical centres, explore the provision of health insurances and explore health tourism.”

“A SODELPA Government will also provide free dialysis for Fijians who need them,” he added.
