Make use of free transportation: Saneem

Supervisor of Elections Mohammed Saneem has again urged Fijians to take advantage of the free transportation in their localities for the 2022 General Election.

Saneem has advised people to text their voter card number on the 1500 platform to receive their venue and transportation information.

“Bring your umbrella and a bottle of water and if you do not have the means to make it to a polling venue, text your voter card number to 1500.”

“And your 1500 platform will message you back with the details of the contact person who is organising free public transportation in your area. This is a free service and we encourage every single voter to use it if they want to make their way to the polling venue using the free public transport.”

He also made it clear that free transportation will be provided to Fijians only within their localities and not out of their range.

“The 1503 toll-free line is also active. So you can call them to make the necessary arrangements for the transport in your area. I would like to once again clarify that the free public transportation is for your own localities only.”

“We will not be facilitating transportation on purpose from Navua to Suva, from Nadi to Suva or Suva to Nadi. That’s not your locality, that’s the entire island. You are going to get free public transportation for your localities only,” he explained.
