People’s will at stake: Narube

Unity Fiji Party Leader Savenaca Narube says the will of the people is at stake and democracy needs to be protected.

Narube joined People’s Alliance Party Leader Sitiveni Rabuka, National Federation Party Leader Professor Biman Prasad and Fiji Labour Party Leader Mahendra Chaudry in a press conference today in Suva to air grievances against the current electoral system.

“We need to understand that what is at stake is the will of the people and the democratic principles that a country like of Fiji should be built on,” Narube said.

“We have had two elections with the same kind of irregularities.

“If this was something new, than maybe we could pass on that

“If we are to protect democracy, the rights of individuals, the peoples will than we need to do something.

“We need to bring this to an end and say this is enough and stand up for the truth,” he stated.
