Get rid of Results Management System: Tabuya

People’s Alliance Deputy Party Leader Lynda Tabuya says the people of Fiji are not questioning the validity of the manual count but the Results Management System.

Tabuya said people have lost interest in the Fiji Elections Office RMS after the ‘glitch’ during the first announcement of provisional results.

We’re not talking about the counting done at the counting centre, no that is not what we’re talking about here,” Tabuya said.

“We’re talking about the results.

“Get rid of the Result Management System.”

Tabuya said questions were raised when an anomaly saw figures change abruptly on restart.

So after they apparently repaired the glitch after two hours, there were about 296,000 votes displayed.

And that was only just over halfway or all the polling stations.

“So, if you count the remaining polling stations, which would be about 800 plus people and poster is he telling us then that there would be at least almost 100% voter turnout.

How is that consistently the 311,000 that he gave on Election Day and by the way Where is the total number of votes cast?

We still don’t know at this moment; how many votes are cast on Election Day?”

“He still hasn’t put out that number surely by now he should know, so please put up that number.”
