Bainimarama elected Opposition Leader

FijiFirst Leader and former Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama has been elected as Fiji’s new Opposition Leader.

FijiFirst MP Alvick Maharaj nominated Bainimarama and the nomination was seconded by Inia Seruiratu.

Government Members did not oppose the nomination, and the motion was passed unanimously.

Speaker of Parliament Ratu Naiqama Lalabalavu has adjourned Parliament to a later date, until His Excellency the President Ratu Wiliame Katonivere reconvenes Parliament for his opening address.
