Heavy rain alert for Fiji Group

A heavy rain alert is now in force for Nadi, Lautoka, Ba, Tavua, Rakiraki, Yasawa and Mamanuca Islands, Kadavu, Lau, Lomaiviti Group and the Northern Division.

An active trough of low pressure lies slow moving to the west of Fiji.

Flash flood warning is also now in place for low-lying and flood prone areas in Vitogo River, Nasivi River, and Rakiraki and Penang Rivers.

Areas that are likely to be affected are Vakabuli-Paipai Crossing, low-lying crossings within Nasivi, Rakiraki and Penang River.
