Stay away from flooded areas

The National Disaster Management Office is calling on members of the public to stay away from flooded areas and to refrain from attempting to cross flooded rivers or streams that’s above the knee level.

NDMO has urged Fijians to call 917 or 910 if they need assistance to move to higher ground.

Also, the Nadi Weather Office has indicated that an active trough of low pressure remains slow moving over Viti Levu, with associated rains also continuing to affect the group.

A heavy rain alert remains in force for the rest of the Fiji Group for the next couple of days.
