More cases of sexual crimes against children were recorded by the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) last month.
Of the 41 counts of sexual offences in December, there were 14 victims of whom seven victims were under the age of 18 years and there were seven incidents where the victims and the accused were related to one another.
A 56-year-old man was charged with two representative counts of rape and one count of sexual assault of his 12-year-old grandniece.
There was one incident where a 35-year-old man was charged with five counts of rape and one count of sexual assault of his 14-year-old stepdaughter.
A 29-year-old man was charged with four counts of rape of his 17-year-old niece while in another incident, a 38-year-old man was charged with the rape of his 17-year-old cousin.
A 20-year-old man was charged with the rape of his 10-year-old cousin while in another incident, a 23-year-old man was charged with the rape and sexual assault of his 18-year-old cousin.
