Farmer dies in horrific Ra accident

A 64-year-old farmer from Korowaqa, Rakiraki died after the vehicle he was driving was involved in an accident near Malake, Rakiraki yesterday afternoon.

According to Police, the victim allegedly lost control of his vehicle causing it to veer onto the opposite lane resulting in a head on collision with another vehicle driven by a 35-year-old man who was travelling with his 32-year-old wife.

Both sustained injuries and are admitted at the Rakiraki Hospital.

A post mortem will be conducted to ascertain cause of death as investigations continue.

The road death toll currently stands at 1 compared to 0 for the same period last year.
