Panthers find Kikau’s replacement in Garner

The Penrith Panthers have recruited West Tigers youngster Luke Garner to fill the gap left by barnstorming hitman Viliame Kikau.

Coach Ivan Cleary has drafted the 27-year-old centre on a two-year deal at Penrith with only 75 games under the belt since his debut in 2018.

A strong runner Garner is expected to do serious damage in the opposition defence off the likes of Nathan Cleary and Jarome Luai on both edges

However, Garner will face stiff competition to secure a spot with premiership-winner Scott Sorensen, Brisbane Broncos new recruit Zac Hosking, NSW Cup star Preston Riki and Chris Smith all vying for the position.
