Police beef up security at SODELPA meeting

Police have closed off a section of Gordon Street where the Social Democratic Liberal Party Management Board is currently meeting.

They have diverted traffic and asked motorists to use alternative routes.

Yesterday, Acting Deputy Leader, Aseri Radrodro said the Fiji Police Force is providing security and has asked its supporters to stay away from the meeting area.

“Only those allowed to attend the meeting will be allowed in,” he said

Police presence in the Management Board meeting area is visible, not allowing anyone whose name is not in the list to attend the meeting.

Earlier today, former Prime Minister, the late Laisenia Qarase’s wife Leba Qarase was denied entry to the meeting venue.

SODELPA Communications Manager Tukini Cama and some Party delegates were also denied entry.
