Positional versatility a plus point for Nasinu

Nasinu Head Coach Tagi Vonolagi will be utilising his team’s positional versatility to adapt to the stiff competition in the 2024 Digicel Fiji FACT this week in Labasa.

“Our players are versatile, so we switch up their positions. No one has a fixed position, which allows us to adapt based on our positional needs,” he told FijiLive.

This strategy was evident in their DFPL match against Nadroga, where strikers were moved to backline positions due to player suspensions from double yellow cards.

Vonolagi was pleased with how well they managed to hold off Nadroga under these adjustments.

Nasinu is drawn in a tough pool that includes O-league semifinal qualifiers Rewa, along with Nadroga, Navua, and the home team Labasa.

“It’s a competition, and we’ll come prepared. It doesn’t mean we are to be taken lightly,” said Vonolagi.

The Nasinu squad with a blend of youth and a few senior players are buzzing with excitement.

“Some boys are really excited; most of them will be going for Fiji FACT for the first time. They are looking forward to the tournament,” he added.

These players have gained valuable experience playing alongside senior players in the DFPL league, which Vonolagi believes has prepared them well for the level of competition they will face at Fiji FACT.

Nasinu squad: Emori Ragata, Anikeet Reddy, Anushil Prasad, Pratik Ram, Lauren Bali, Raul Chandra, Don Keana, Manit Lal, Nasoni Mereke, Maikah Dau, Kelemedi Matou, Savenaca Nakalevu, Meli Nacoke, Tushal Kumar, Jone Rupeni, Manasa Levaci, Ryan Chandra, Kalisito Veikoka, Shalvesh Singh, Timcoi Raibiriki, Tevita Bese, Sanjeev Raman.
