Prof Lal’s family to arrive in Feb

After 12 years in exile, Professor Brij Vilash Lal is coming home to his beloved place of birth, Tabia in Labasa on 25 February, 2023.

The interment or scattering of Prof Lal’s ashes in Tabia River will be preceded by a formal event at Tabia Sanatan College from 12.30-2pm to remember the pre-eminent historian on Girmit.

The formal event has been organised by deputy Prime Minister and National Federation Party (NFP) Leader Professor Biman Prasad.

Prof Lal’s wife, Dr Padma Lal said the family is extremely grateful to Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka and his new PAP-NFP-SODELPA Government for enabling them to finally bring Brij back to his beloved Tabia, after being denied to do so by the previous Bainimarama Government even after his passing on 25 December 2021.
