Rain alert extended to North-west Viti Levu

The heavy rain alert that was issued for Vanua Levu, Taveuni and nearby smaller islands, Yasawa and Northern Lau Group yesterday, has now been extended to the Northwestern and interior parts of Viti Levu.

This is due to a trough of low pressure that lies slow moving just to the West of Fiji while another trough lies slow moving just to the east of Fiji.

The National Forecasting Centre in Nadi says associated cloud, showers and rain is expected to affect the country till next week.
