Set piece key for Fijiana says Nagasau

Fijiana 7s Skipper Rusila Nagasau says her side will need to get their set pieces right, ahead of their campaign at the Hamilton 7s in New Zealand this weekend.

Nagasau said the team had been working hard on a lot of areas but set piece is a major area that needs a lot of improvements.

“We are working on a good combination so that we have a smooth transition in the match.”

“I know our fitness and skills level will be put to test because we have a mix of the squad. The opponents will be raring to go against us and test our players.”

“I feel our set piece needs to be better. That’s something the coaches and officials are trying to do better in our game. If we are slow at that then the opposite team will easily take advantage of our play. That area needs to be settled and we need to have a good set piece play so that we are able to go ahead and score.”

Fijiana will open its Hamilton 7s campaign against Great Britain at 10.22am before facing host team New Zealand at 2.14pm and rounding off their last pool match against Papua New Guinea at 5.37pm on Saturday.

Fijiana 7s: Rejieli Daveua, Rusila Nagasau, Vani Buleki, Talei Wilson, Ivamere Nabura, Vasiti Solikoviti, Lavena Cavuru, Maria Rokotuisiga, Viniana Riwai, Reapi Uluinasau, Ana Naimasi, Ilisapeci Delaiwau, Younis Bese
