Olympic Qualification remains a focus for Fijiana 7s

Fijiana 7s Head Coach Saiasi Fuli says getting to the Olympic Games qualification rounds remains the top priority for the team.

Although they are chasing quality finishes at the second leg of the HSBC World Rugby Sevens Series, the Olympics remains the top bet.

“Qualification is the goal, and getting to the qualifications in Toulouse in May is top on our list,” Fuli said.

Fuli said after finishing top 10 in the previous leg, they aimed at going one better.

“Our objective is a top four finish at the next leg in both Hamilton and Sydney 7s, but that doesn’t take away from what our main goal is.”

Meanwhile Fuli added they are ready to face their opponents in Great Britain, Papua New Guinea and New Zealand tomorrow.

“It is a strong pool, and all the games will be tough, however I trust the girls to remain competitive and get the job done.”
