Coach Mick Byrne confirmed that Samusamuvodre has a swollen ankle and he will be assessed by the team medics in the coming days.

Samusamuvodre took the field against the Blues in the second spell and Byrne said he came through the game all right.

“Tuidraki has his ankle strapped at the moment so I am not sure how’s he gonna be.”

“I think it might be the travel back. Like when you travel and spend a lot of time in the air and sometimes the joints swell up if there’s a little bit of injury.”

“I can’t remember him doing much in the game so its more of less an injury when we got back here so we’ll see how things go.”

Providing an update on the recovery and rehabilitation of Ilaisa Droasese and Taniela Rakuro, Byrne said both players are back running and should be good to join the team in the next two to three weeks.

The Drua vs Moana Pasifika match kicks off at 6.05pm at the AAMI Park.
