Sick child airlifted from Levuka Hospital

A directive from Health Minister Dr Atonio Lalabalavu has seen an eight-year-old sick child airlifted from Levuka Hospital to the Colonial War Memorial Hospital (CWMH) in Suva.

The child was an acute admission at the Levuka Hospital on Tuesday and the Minister had to intervene and issue the directive for him to be medically evacuated to CWMH at the earliest opportunity after the patient’s friends and family appealed for support on social media.

The young boy is now admitted at the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) Ward under the care of the Paediatric specialist team at the CWMH and his condition has stabilised.
