Sixty JNCO’s graduate at QEB

Sixty participants in the Third Battalion Fiji Infantry regiment completed their Junior Non- Commissioned Officers Course and graduated last week at the Queen Elizabeth Barracks Drill Square.

The participants, which represented various Land Force Units within the Republic of Fiji Military Force, completed their three months training, covering military syllabus that would assist potential leaders at the junior level of command.

Commander Land Force, Colonel Onisivoro Covunisaqa, said the course allowed the participants to familiarize themselves with functional leadership, introducing them to the art of command and control at the sections level.

Col Covunisaqa stated that he expected every participant to lead their men as they return to their respective units, and not to let the knowledge and skills obtained during the course to be put to waste.

The JNCO course objective includes testing functional leadership, practical command, and control, the roles and responsibilities as a section 2IC, physical and mental toughness.
